Sonoma HandCarved Ordering Guidelines

 

GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION

All furniture is fully assembled. Cushions are available upon request but are not included.

Due to the handcrafted nature of the furniture and the use of reclaimed wood, slight variations in the size as well as imperfections in the wood may occur.

An assortment of motifs are available and may be used, with a few exceptions, on any piece. Our standard motifs are displayed on the final sheet of our brochure. Custom motifs and custom designs are available and welcomed (please refer to Guidelines & Policies for Custom Orders for additional information). Please provide us with your requirements and allow us to work with you.

All outdoor pieces are solid redwood unless otherwise requested and are suitable for interior or exterior utilization.

Indoor pieces can be done in a variety of woods. We work primarily in pine, soft maple, birch and alder. Indoor product in our published catalog are all either pine or maple. Please specify the wood when ordering indoor furniture.

PURCHASE ORDER REQUIREMENTS
The following details are needed on your purchase order to assure competent construction of your furniture. Any exclusion of this information could delay your order. Thank you for your cooperation.
  1. Quantity of each piece
  2. Item number and/or catalog description
  3. Price
  4. Carving motif (if any)
  5. Finish choice
  6. Is hand-stained color on the carving required?
  7. Ship to address and phone number
  8. "Deadline" date if required; turn around time for most orders is 4-8 weeks
GUIDELINES & POLICIES for CUSTOM ORDERS

The following guidelines & policies have been established to ensure timely and accurate completion of your orders from Sonoma Hand Carved. Thank you for your cooperation.

Drawings and Sketches

If required, one initial drawing will be supplied at no charge. Should the client wish to make changes to the initial drawing, SHC will adhere to client changes providing the changes do not compromise the structural integrity of the piece or increase the cost of the piece. A $65.00 fee will be incurred for each additional drawing.

Motifs

A fee of $75.00 will be charged for the drawing of each custom motif. This fee will include one change to the initial custom drawing. Additional changes are assessed and will be quoted.

Finishes

SHC encourages a finish selection from our samples however, should the client prefer a custom finish the following policies apply:

  • Up charges for custom finishes will be included in the initial quote (a sample of the finish must be supplied for an accurate quote);
  • If no sample is supplied, SHC will provide an "estimated" quote only;
  • A $25.00 fee will be incurred for each custom finish sample.
  • Any change of finish from the original quotation will require a "re-quotation" of the finish.
  • Specifications / Dimensions - Any specification or dimensional changes made to the original quote will be subject to an up charge or "re-quote" of the original design.
  • Up charge schedule for changes to standard lines offered by Sonoma Hand Carved:
  • 5% for combining designs (ie: customer wants a leg or arm etc., from one style of chair put on an other style of chair).
  • 10% for two slight changes in dimensions (ie: chair seat height and depth or table top dimensions and table height).
  • Further customizing of pieces will need to be custom quoted by Sonoma HandCarved.
TERMS & CONDITIONS

Prices are subject to change without notice and no cancellations will be accepted following the required 50% deposit. Rush orders are subject to a 15% surcharge.

Prices are F.O.B. Sebastopol, California (approximately 60 miles north of San Francisco, California).

Work completion date will be scheduled upon receipt of 50% deposit. Balance will be due prior to or on the date of completion. Allow 4-8 weeks for manufacturing depending upon size of order and current production schedule. Should you have specific deadlines please call to confirm that your date can be accommodated.

Storage charges will be incurred at a rate of 5% of the original order for each two week period following the date of completion. This period does not include the time frame incurred between completion date and shipping departure date established by the carrier. Any repairs to finished projects due to damages incurred during storage will be the clients responsibility.

We calculate our packaging and crating charges at 6% of the List price or 10% of the Net price. Please call us for confirmation on the need for crating and a quote on your order.

Sonoma Hand Carved in not responsible for damage in transit. Furniture should be inspected immediately upon arrival, before the bill of lading is signed and accepted. Claims should be directed to the carrier.

In the event of defect or damage for reasons other than shipping, please furnish a letter and photograph of the damage. Returns will not be accepted without the prior written consent of Sonoma Hand Carved. All returns must be accompanied by a letter of authorization from Sonoma Hand Carved.
